Strong, Schuyler
b. in New York; d. 1845. Strong was admitted to the bar and began his law practice in New York. After arriving in Springfield,
Illinois, he continued to
practice law and formed a partnership with John C. Doremus in 1841 that lasted only a few months. In that same year he accepted
an
appointment as commissioner and master in chancery for the U.S. District Court for the District of Illinois.
